Based on the recent weather patterns, it appears that we may actually get some winter weather as move into February. With that said, you should follow this process to know about the status of your games:

If we need to reschedule for any reason, you will receive an email through the scheduling system notifying you of the change.

If we cancel any games because of facility closure, we will send an email. However, we strongly recommend you sign up for the FREE RainedOut text service available on the home page of the website.

If a game is cancelled due to facility cancellation, we will do our best to get the game rescheduled. However, please understand that space at the facilities we use is not easy to obtain at this time and a reschedule may not be possible. Our first priority in rescheduling will be for those teams that have not played as many games. (IE: If we have two teams and one has played less games, we will give them first shot at a reschedule.)

Thank you for your understanding and consideration.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have been receiving emails and calls concerning some things. We have started this FAQ to hopefully provide you with some answers. This way you don’t have to wait on a response.

Q: What is the cost to play TCF?
A: This season all teams will pay the same amount no matter where they play. That fee is $500. This fee covers your games and referees for each game.

Q: Can we register as an INDIVIDUAL or does it have to be as a TEAM?
A: You can register as an individual within your home club. They will then form teams. These are normally recreational teams only - but that decision is completely up to your home club. In most cases, team registration is preferred and is usually the least expensive method of registration. To register as an individual, please visit your home club's website below. (NOTE: Individual registrations fees are determined by your home club based on their overhead costs, so these fees could vary club to club. TCF does not determine this fee.)

Calvert Soccer Association

Northern St. Mary's Soccer
(registering through SMYS)

St. Mary's Youth Soccer

Waldorf Soccer Club

Q: Tell me more about the referees?
A: All games U16 and above will have two referees. All other games will have one. Referees are locally trained and assigned abiding by TCF rules. Referees are not required to have US Futsal certification but will be required to attend a local TCF training class prior to being assigned.

Q: Are we keeping scores/standings?
A: After much discussion, we have determined that TCF is designed to further the development of your teams and therefore, we will NOT be keeping scores/standings. While there may be scoreboards at the facilities, we will attempt to never let the score show more than a 5-goal deficit.

Q: Are we required to register with US Futsal?
A: No. While we are a futsal league, we are NOT affiliated with US Futsal. If you wish to participate with US Futsal events (tournaments, State Cup, etc.), we encourage you to pursue registering with US Futsal.

Q: When will the season start and finish?
A: The first game will be Friday, November 30. We will then take a break for the holidays. Season will end no later than Sunday, March 3. 2013. Some teams may play until then, others may finish a little earlier. The Calendar on the TCF web page is updated.

Q: Can we register our player as an individual?
A: There is no way to register single players, this is intentional. The different organizations (CSA, , NSL, SMYS, and WSC) may be able to help you identify a team for your player to join. Please refer to the TCF Coordinators here for that info.

Q: Where will games be played?
A: Each county has a facility where games will be played. All of those locations are listed here. Travel and RecPlus teams will play approximately half their games at home and half their games at any of the away locations. Recreational teams will play all their games at their home court.

Q: Where are the rules?
A: Rules at all locations will be the same. These rules are the ones listed on this website here. We are making a few modifications to these rules at this point - but they will be finalized before the season begins.

Q: Who will we play?
A: The goal is to have specific gender and ages play each other, as well as level of play. However, that will depend soley on the final registration. In a perfect world, we would have only boys playing boys, girls playing girls, travel playing travel, etc. In reality, there will be some mixing of these, partially because some coaches want to play tougher competition to enhance development, and partially because of who registers. We will do our best to avoid uneven matchups.

Q: Can I register my team to play up?
A: You can register to play up one age group. Since TCF is form in dual years, this means that if you’re a true U14 team, you can request to play up to U16. However, if you’re true U13 team, you can only play U14. Boys teams must play inthe "Boys" division. Girls teams can also play in the "Boys" division. Please note, that once we have released the schedule, we WILL NOT honor any requests to change divisions because the competition level is too high or too low.

Check back as we’ll add more FAQs as they come in.
